How to Install Shade Nets (Procedures and Steps)
Gather the Ideal shade nets
The first step is to find and purchase a good shade net material for your crop shade netting purpose. You can choose to use any shade net percentage from 35 to 90 % by considering the crop you are growing.
Prepare and take measurements
You obviously have a good site or area in mind where to install you shade nets. A proper place consists of a flat, well drained and less rocky terrain. Prepare by clearing any vegetative growth and remove obstacles such as roots.
Measurements
Take a proper measurement of the area and record the length and width for estimation of nets to use. An ideal shade nets takes 4 x 50 m full roll, calculating the number required is done by dividing the area of the farm by the area of one roll.
Erect Support poles
Choose whether to construct a wooden shade net structure or metallic one. A metallic shade structure will require supply of galvanized steel poles together with the net.
You can use cement and sand to support the poles onto the ground for firm installation of the shade nets.
Attachment of the Shade net onto the Structure
Pull the shade net and drape it over the structure, then using wiggle wires tuck it and hold it onto the channel lock placed on the edges.
Ensure tight installation of the net
While installing make sure the net does not sag at any point.
Cut the Excess Net
In Case the net size exceeds the structure, cut the extensive shade net for use in other purposes.
Leaving it may be an obstruction or cause some parts to be totally blocked from sunlight reach.
