What are Double Emitter Driplines?
Double Emitter driplines have two nozzles or emitter holes within 15, 20, or 30 cm intervals along the drip tape.
Double-emitter drip tape has a higher flow rate than a single-emitter drip tape. Double-emitter driplines are best for high-water requirement crops.
Driplines for Sale in Kenya
Driplines generate a dropwise irrigation effect on the crop field due to their equal hole spacing on the pipe length which releases water.
And since the pipes are laid on the root zones along the plant line, the water goes directly to the sections with crops.

What to Consider when Buying Driplines in Kenya
Run length; the size of the beds or blocks of farm that you use depending on the crop.
Pressure Range: consider the pressure range as per the water source.
Emitter Spacing: different emitter spacing are designed for different crops due to varying spacing and water needs.
Flow rate: The flow rates come in varying rates according to dripline spacing.
Farm Size: the size of the land is another consideration.
Crop Applications for Various Driplines
15 cm spacing; onions, garlic, Sukuma wiki, and cabbages.
20 cm spacing; cabbages, Sukuma wiki, and capsicums.
30 cm spacing; far-spaced crops such as strawberries, and corn.
Flow rates of Our Double Emitter Driplines
The flow rate varies from 1.0 to 1.5 L/H.
Double Emitter Drip Irrigation Design
The design of drip irrigation requires making beds or sections on your farm to allow easier control when irrigating your farm. Drip irrigation design involves the connection of a mainline pipe and driplines by use of fittings.
How far apart should Driplines be installed?
Driplines are laid on a length of 9 to 12 inches on a bed.
Distance Between Dripline Planting Beds
In a double emitter dripline setup, planting beds need to be spaced around 30 cm distance to maximize space for crop production.
Beds should be 1 M wide and 50 -100 m long as per the length of the dripline and farm size.
How to Connect Double Emitter Driplines
- Connect the mainline pipe to the water source, a pump or water tank.
- If you are sourcing water from a tank, you need to lay the pipe connection underground.
- However, if you are using a pump, the connection can be on the surface.
- Connect the sub-mainline pipe to the mainline. Use a tee for making branch connections, elbow for corners, and couplings to join mainline pipes.
- Drill 16 mm holes on the mainline to allow connection of driplines.
- Attach a rubber and a start connector to the holes.
- Use a 16 mm start connector fitting.
- Attach an offtake connector to the other end of the HDPE pipe.
- Connect the driplines to the offtake connector.
